Small Business Field Officers provide a referral and general advisory service to small businesses, particularly those in areas of unmet need, through a network of locally-placed Field Officers. The service forms part of the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business Program administered by AusIndustry. AusIndustry is the program delivery arm of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources, and delivers products, services and information that support industry, research and innovation. In today's business world many small businesses find it difficult to know where and how to access information, resources and support.
The Small Business Field Officers Program solves this problem by providing a one stop information service, for existing businesses, home based businesses and new business ventures.
Your Small Business Field Officer can help link you to a broad range of government, industry, internet and self help resources and support.
Our free, friendly and confidential service can assist you to identify sources of assistance available in the following areas:
- Market research, marketing and promotional opportunities
- Licensing and registration requirements
- Employment and industrial relations issues
- Research and Development
- Industry, Professional and trade associations
- Networking opportunities
- Taxation and recordkeeping requirements

Your Small Business Field Officer acts as an information service for a range of Australian Government small business programs and initiatives to help small business.
