Tell A Friend About NQACC

NQACC Quarterly Newsletter

Welcome to the NQACC

The North Queensland Area Consultative Committee (NQACC) is the key regional development network for the Australian Government in North Queensland.  The NQACC is part of the national network of in excess of 50 Area Consultative Committees.

We are a community based, non-profit organisation, funded by the Australian Government under the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.  The NQACC members and staff work in partnership with government, business and the community to promote the strategies of economic, environmental and social development.

The NQACC identifies opportunities and priorities for our region and helps to develop strategies in partnership with the federal government and key stakeholders.  The strategies developed by the NQACC provide direction and identify the region's priorities for Government funding.

On 13 May 2008, The Hon Anthony Albanese MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, announced the establishment of Regional Development Australia (RDA), to be built on the network of Area Consultative Committees (ACCs) throughout Australia.

The ACCs have been asked to consult with their regional stakeholders and advise the Government on a number of issues, including regional development priorities and strategies, and the transition of the ACC network to Regional Development Australia.

The North Queensland Area Consultative Committee (NQACC) has developed a survey to assist in gathering the information we require.  The purpose of the survey is explained in more detail in the document’s Introduction.

We would value your input in the consultative process and thank you sincerely for taking the time to complete this survey.  Responses to the survey need to be returned to admin@nqacc.org.au by 23 July 2008.
